The church is Philippi was already a strong
church but when Paul wrote to them, Paul highlighted their need
to have agreement if they are to be stronger. Phi 2:1-2 If you
have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any
comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any
tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being
like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and
purpose. This is true also for All Saints’ Cathedral and in fact
for our whole Diocese. When the Diocese and the church have a
serious mission focus, it is important we come behind it
together as a church and not have our own “mission” initiatives
in our small groups. These only divert our resources and we will
then have many small directions and not much long-term
